Bird crime

The direct persecution of rare and globally threatened species is a very serious problem worldwide, which seriously leads them to the way of extinction (unfortunately, Bulgaria and Greece are not exception in this field). The shooting of wild animals for “fun”, the illegal taxidermy or the misunderstanding of “the profit” for killing them are the main problems that we should work on.

This project activity is focused mainly on the enforcement of the communication and cooperation between the responsible institutions – Ministries, Customs, Police and the project partners from Britain, Greece and Bulgaria. This close cooperation aims to decrease the rate of direct persecution of the Egyptian Vultures and other threatened species – as a part of the national heritage of the respective countries.
