The bird, known with its intellect and wanderlust, have returned in Bulgaria to breed, after spending the cold winter months in warmer tropical and subtropical regions. All observations have occurred in the last few days.
The three pairs, observed in Eastern Rhodopes, arrived at the same time, when the Nature Conservation Center "Eastern Rhodopes" in the town of Madzharovo opened the new tourist season. The new-look exhibition with interactive games and amazing graffiti present us the Arda River valley, the diversity of species and, of course, the most popular wild inhabitants of the region – the vultures. Authors of the incredible paintings in the hall of the Center are the graffiti artists from 140 ideas (Last summer they painted the patio of the school “St. Kliment Ohridski“ in Haskovo).
Guests of the center were students from the school in Madzharovo, residents, representatives of the municipality and ... the endangered feathered fellows, who came back to the Balkans from their winter quarters in Northern Africa. Thus, they will not disappoint the thousands of tourists and visitors to the town of Madzharovo that will come to see them.
The renovation of the exhibition, and the so called "Dark" room in the oak forest, as well as restoration of warblers’ watering troughs and nests result from the efforts of our most vigorous BSPB volunteers and the kind financial support by the "New Thracian Gold" project.
