Workshop on the illegal use of poisoned baits-Dadia Information Centre (Dadia Management Body)

In the beginning of December, WWF team participated with a lecture in a workshop for the illegal use of poisoned baits. The workshop was organized by the Management Body of the National Park of Dadia-Lefkimmi-Soufli forest in the Dadia village. Representatives from forest and vet authorities, hunting clubs and farmer's cooperatives participated. The legal status and proposed compensatory measures as far as the symptoms of pesticide poisoning and the list of the frequent pesticides used in Thrace based on the toxicological analysis of poisoned animals, were presented by the speakers.
WWF presented the results from the assessment study of the illegal use of poisoned baits in Thrace, the results of our anti-poison unit work with Kiko and measures for the control and the recording of the poisoning incidents.
