- The first Antipoison Dog Units in Greece are ready!

The training of the Antipoison Dogs Units, after several weeks, is coming to an end. Both dogs and guides are practically ready to return to Greece and start working on real cases.
The training has been difficult and demanding for the guides. Learning and putting in practice the methodology used to carry out a search for poison baits is not at all easy. On the one hand, it requires full understanding of dog behaviour, but also of human behaviour, namely, of the poisoners mind and objectives. In addition, a search also requires careful preparation and planning of the visit, taking into consideration different factors such as topography, weather conditions, ownership of the land, etc.
We would like to give our warmest thanks to Jesus Lopez Valladolid, our dog and guide trainer who has so patiently and good-humouredly taught us all the techniques and know-how needed in order to put into practice this important conservation action in Greece (http://www.perroscontraelveneno.es/).
We would also like to thank Meg Humphries, a young and talented art student from the UK, who has kindly and disinterestedly designed the project’s new t-shirt (http://www.facebook.com/StarDustMegArt).
Special thanks go also to Maria Pita, who accompanied us for a week and kindly helped us with translation.
