The first Egyptian vultures are coming back, after long way travelling away from home lands.

The last week were made several observations – the first bird was seen in “Studen kladenec” hunting reserve in Eastern Rhodopes, from Marin Kurtev and the employees there. The second was made by Jivko Barzov from BSPB Varna, in Provadiisko Rojaksko plateau Natura 2000 area. The last was made yesterday in Madzharovo from “The return of the Neophron” team.

Now, till the end of April (once the birds are here), we will find out the number of the pairs, which will make families, responsible for the number of the young chicks this year and the survival of the population in the Balkan Peninsula. In comparison, 2012 we had 22 successful nests with 25 fledglings in Bulgaria.  Our team strongly wishes the growth of this numbers, because for the rare species, that means reduction of the threats and more positive attitude from all of us to them and the nature at all.
