Electric fence on the feeding station in Madzharovo

01.11.2012

On 20th  and 21th of October the field staff and volunteers of the Bulgarian Society for the Protection of Birds (BSPB) fenced by an electric fence the feeding station for Vultures in Madjarovo. The length of electric fences is approximately 700 m. The goal is to prevent the entry of dogs in the feeding station and the disturbance of the birds there and also to prevent the shedding of dead animals outside the fence by the dogs and stop the spreading of diseases.
We express our gratitude to Marin Kurtev, Ivaylo Dimchev, Hristo Hristov, Desislava Stefanova, Vera Alekseeva, Tsvetelina Petrova for the great help in installing the electric fences.
The installation of the electric fence is financed by the project "New Tracian Gold" in cooperation with the LIFE+ project "The Return of the Neophron".
