- Rescue of one chick in Dadia National Park, Greece

On 14th of August our volunteers who controlled three times per week the growth of chicks from view-points noticed that one of the chicks, was missing. The same day, in the afternoon, our field researcher Elzbieta Kret went below the nest and after intensive searching in the base of the rock, she found the chick hidden under a rock recess. We were very lucky to find the chick still alive but weak. We realized that this chick was the younger one and had not yet developed sufficiently to fly. There was no injure or other obvious problems with the physical condition of the chick, but for certainty we sent it to the rehabilitation center, ANIMA in order to provide it with first aids and to control its health. We hope that the bird will be sent back soon. We have to help it in its preparation for migration.
