- Cameras will observe the lives of Egyptian vultures in Bulgaria
The final preparations in anticipation of Egyptian vultures to return from Africa is completed. After the installation of a monitoring device in Greece, here in Bulgaria we also put one HD camera and three photo traps. The work was carried out a few days before the return of the first Egyptian vultures.
The purpose of the camera and photo traps is to explore the nutrition and the behavior of the species and give us valuable information on these aspects of the life of the Egyptian vulture. In order not to disturb the birds the experts of the team that installed the devices masked them so to make them invisible for the vultures.
Last year, we placed two photo traps and a video camera. The activities carried out under the project "The Return of the Neophron".
