Nest guarding

This conservation action aims to limit the effect of direct disturbance on Egyptian Vultures risky nests during the breeding season. The eggs and the hatchlings of the Egyptian Vultures need permanent parent’s attention and care. Therefore, if the parents are disturbed (even by chance - from people without bad intentions) and this makes them to leave the nest for a long period, the eggs or very young hatchlings could die without the parent’s care.

For the implementation of this action, the project team will count on experienced nest guardians, as well as to local people. In addition to the human resources, specialized equipment for nest guarding is also installed.
