Return of the Neophron

BSPB will launch officially the project Urgent Measures to Secure the Survival of the Egyptian Vulture (Neophron percnopterus) in Bulgaria and Greece (LIFE10 NAT/BG/000152) on Monday, 23 January, at 11 o’clock, in the National Museum for Natural History, Sofia. Public figures and journalists will attend the event. This is the first big project dedicated to the symbol bird of BSPB.
The project expert team will be presented together with the actions for the species conservation to be carried out in the next five years on the Balkans and in some countries in Africa and Asia.
The photo exhibition The Return of the Nephron tells the story of hardship of the few remaining Egyptian vultures on the Balkans and along their migration routes. The exhibition will stay in the museum halls for a month.
The project is funded by the LIFE+ Programme of the EU and the A. G. Leventis Foundation.
